Photo Mojo

We believe that photographic mojo may flow and ebb within each of us but that there is always at least a spark that can be reignited.

For me, the best way to get my mojo going is to get out of the house. I know it’s not always possible, but when I’m able to sneak away to explore a new spot for even an hour or two, I find my creative juices start flowing again. I get inspired by the new surroundings and excited to see the images once I return home. These creative breaks give me fuel for the next few days as I review my photos, play with them, and perhaps share them with others. And often these moments come unexpectedly: a foggy morning draws me out; I find myself in a place with lovely light and decide to capture it; a friend calls to invite me to coffee or somewhere new where we might explore together. It often comes unexpectedly, perhaps as I’m running errands and see something particularly pretty that I just must stop and shoot.

How and where do you find your creative mojo?
