I’m thrilled to introduce today’s guest, Chinwe Edeani. Chinwe is a photographer living in Baltimore, Maryland. She is hopelessly obsessed with light/shadows and is in love with film photography. She loves getting lost in beautiful places, with her camera and journal.

“Wherever you turn your eyes the world can shine like transfiguration. You don’t have to bring a thing to it except a little willingness to see.”

These words are spoken by one of my favorite literary characters, Pastor John Ames, in one of my favorite novels, Gilead by Marilynne Robinson. I think of these words often as I take up my camera to capture the world around me, to capture some of its beautiful radiance – its “shine.” This is often much easier in a completely new environment where you can’t help but see everything with new eyes. I had a chance to practice this over the summer, during an incredible 2-week trip to Europe, turning my eyes to…

What utter joy it was to experience it all and document it with my camera’s eye. Now, the challenge is to find this same radiance and beauty in my day-to-day life. All I need is just “a little willingness to see.”

You can find more of Chinwe’s gorgeous work on flickr and tumblr.
