“Autumn carries more gold in its pocket than all the other seasons.”

The change of seasons from summer to fall creeps up on me every year. Unseasonably warm days, an abundance of sunshine and trees still clinging to their leaves lull me into believing winter is months away.tree-branchbike-and-leavessoybeans-cropBut changes are happening and I find myself chasing autumn, just as I do every year at this time. I get the urge to go out and find those gold, reds and rusts, perhaps to prove to myself that the season really is here. This year the hues have been more subtle, but I’m finding beautiful bursts of color in unexpected places.chucks-and-pineconescolorful-trees

The cold winter winds will arrive sooner than I’d like, so I’m getting outdoors as much as possible. These golden days are numbered–and it would be a shame to waste them!
