Spring has returned. The Earth is like a child that knows poems. – Rainier Maria Rilke

Falling petals. Explosions of green. Longer days and shorter nights. This is what I waited for all winter. This is when I start to come alive. It’s funny. In winter, I tell myself, that I love hibernating. That i have all the time for projects and getting work (and taxes) and all those things done that I ignored all year (and part of me does!)…but then I seem to lose those minutes cybersurfing from one site to another, like a pinball machine seeking it’s way through one bumper after another. I’m not quite sure how it happens, but somehow I went on to pay my bills, and then ended up on wikipedia reading about rangerfinder cameras or over on factchecker.org to make sure I’m not reading “fake” news. Does that happen to you too?

But then it gets lighter. And warmer. And SO MUCH BETTER. I lift my chin to the blue, blue sky and close my eyes as the sun shines down, warming my uplifted face. The birds sing to me in the mornings, as I enjoy my morning coffee on the deck in my bare feet! Instead of surfing the web, I surf my fingers through dirt in my garden, take my dog for longer walks and sit outdoors instead of at my machine. My shoulders relax. My brain stops spinning. And I just enjoy the beauty surrounding me.

Spring has come. At last.

Until next time,
