Letting Go

In Inspiration, Nature

Lately, on my daily walks, I’ve been searching out scenes in nature that express what I’m feeling inside.

I have lived in my home for over 28 years now. My children are grown, married and living in various parts of the US. As a woman of a certain age, I’m at the point where I’m ready to clean out, purge, cut away all the clutter and needless material things I have held on to for so long (really, is there any need to keep every report card from my kids school days? Or that polyester leisure suit my husband wore back in the 70s?)

“Some people believe holding on and hanging in there are signs of great strength. However, there are times when it takes much more strength to know when to let go
and then do it”

  1. The big purge happened for us last summer when we moved. It was grueling at times, but also so freeing. Your photos are so beautiful, full of light and the twist and turns of life. It is so wonderful to have you here! Welcome.

    • It is certainly freeing but I still have a long way to go. Maybe I should just move! Thanks, Cathy

  2. I love the many ways it’s possible to interpret these beautiful trees.
And thank you for being here. x

  3. I love all these branches going every which way. I, for one, think you should keep the polyester suit! They are coming back in. Welcome to Viewfinders! I am so thankful you are here. Your photography has inspired me for so long.

  4. I love the way we can see what we need in nature, if we have the sense to look. It is wonderful having you here with us, Susan.
