coming back to myself

My family recently got away for a week to a lovely farmhouse in Northern California. We had slow mornings and long walks. It was wonderful.

One morning, I was able to have a little time with myself and my camera. I have not wandered with a camera in months. I just haven’t wanted to-and really- where have I been able to go?

I was able to tread slowly and allow the light to guide me. I noticed my thoughts and honored what they were revealing to me. I was able to come back to myself.

“When you regain a sense of your life as a journey of discovery, you return to rhythm with yourself. When you take the time to travel with reverence, a richer life unfolds before you. Moments of beauty begin to braid your days.”
― John O’Donohue, Divine Beauty: The Invisible Embrace

Thank you, John O’Donohue, for these words. May you create time to be with yourself.
