My City on Film

I recently loaded my Instax Mini with black & white film and went for a wander. I’ve been feeling anxious about photography lately. Looking through my old photos, I worried I’d lost my ability to really see my city in the same way I did years ago. Fair to say…we’ve both changed and we both keep showing up for each other.

There’s a quote about street photography that I love:

“I love the people I photograph. I mean, they’re my friends. I’ve never met most of them or I don’t know them at all, yet through my images I live with them.” Bruce Gilden.

Those words ring true to me.

I’m forever observing bus stops. I adore them.

Thank you for wandering with me! ~Laura

  1. Oh I truly love these, because of the way you see your city. Though I adore film and adore black and white, what really captures my heart in these is what you see and how you see it.
PS: what a perfect way to present each on by using the concrete of the city.

  2. Hey Laura I really like these. I also find (a LOT this past year) that Instax is the only thing that will make me use film at all. These are lovely little observations.

    • Hello friend! Thank you for your sweet words. What is it that has brought us back to the Instax? I’ve been reaching for it all year after not having shot with it in awhile.
