I keep singing “Goodbye summer, it’s been nice.” to the tune of Supertramp’s song Goodbye Stranger. And it has been nice. I have loved the slow pace summer brings to my life. I love the unscheduled days that allow room for adventures.
It brings sunflowers and long days that wonderfully feel like they will never end.
Here in sunny California, it also means warm ocean water and piers full of visitors; perfect for people watching. And all those summer colors: the light blues and bright yellows.
I don’t want it to go. And on the other hand, I can’t wait for fall. I can’t wait for cooler temps and comfy sweaters. I can’t wait to for all the colors fall brings: the rich oranges and the deep reds. There is even a little bit of my heart that can’t wait for a schedule and a methodical pace to be brought back to my life.
How about you? Are you ready for fall? What are a few things you are looking forward to capturing as the season changes?

Yes! My feelings exactly. I love the freedom of summer but the routine of fall. Love your pictures:)
Thank you!
I loved that day in Santa Monica with you! These photos capture the feel of summer so well. Like you, I am glad to have a routine and schedule again. But we must still plan days to go adventure! 😉
I loved this day too! Yes, fall adventures must happen.
Oh my goodness. I really need to visit your part of the world! Any season will do!
I’m ready for boots and sweaters and cooler weather, but if I could cling to the slower carefree pace of summer, I would.
Nooooooo!!!!! I am never ready for summer to end. Maybe if it looked like your fall I’d be more willing to part ways with her.
