In between jobs, I sometimes see and shoot things, just for myself. I’ll be leaving a client shoot, or scouting a location or waiting for people to show up and I see something I can’t help but capture. After all, I’ve got my camera just hanging there on my shoulder and I’m already in “noticing” mode. In the spirit of sharing, here are a few things that I’ve captured during the moments in between this month:
Leaving the softball field from a team shoot, the light was so warm against this old dead tree in the parking lot.
Before a lunch meeting I had a few minutes to kill so I shot another blurry stop sign to go with this one and this one. Maybe it will turn into it’s own monthly topic for my Jar of Inspiration project?
A rainbow graced the sky in just the right spot while I was shooting action shots at another softball game.
As I walked along the bayou to scout out a new location, I stopped several times along the way as different things caught my eye. I loved all the lines and colors that jumped out around this old building.
And there was a little element of danger in my walk.
And some playfulness to see if I could catch a runner.
And some whimsy and wistfulness.
Sometimes my kids go with me to scout out new shooting locations and I get to catch an in between moment of them.
And then, sometimes, in between editing jobs at my computer, I manage to capture rare moments like this, where my son has somehow managed to wrangle Jack the Cat.
What happens for you in the moments in between? –Angie

I lovvvvve that second to last shot! The colors are amazing!
Thanks – It’s a great area with LOTS of other cool walls painted around it. Houston has a graffiti art festival each year and they paint new ones all over town.
These are great Angie! LOVE the rainbow colors and that you caught that dude running in the lamp! Perfect!
Thanks Holly!

Thanks Michelle – Maybe I’ll work more on the stop signs in June?
Oh soooooo good
I look for any little slice of time to wander and see what I can see. Nice to learn about another thing we share, Angie!
The light on that tree – I call it Eggleston light & will brake for photos whenever I see it! And goodness that graffiti wall is a thing of beauty, made even more lovely with the addition of your model.
What a fun theme! I love the idea of moments “in between.” You found some great ones!
Angie, it is such fun to see what you are seeing, and to hear that you are finding interesting subject matter “just for you” in the midst of your busy schedule of photo assignments!
