After homeschooling all of my children for the last 22 years, I graduated my youngest this last Sunday. Finally, after looking at all the tips and tricks to help myself educate my children from home, today is my first official day of retirement. For those that are looking for improvements to their homeschooling techniques, there are many online resources and aid available now. Something which I didn’t quite have the luxury of when I started out! As an example, there is even this article that helps you understand How To Use Whiteboard Paint To Improve Your Homeschool Space, plus many other articles and similar blogs that you might want to look into for homeschooling advice, whether you’re just starting your young one, or you’re half-way through your child’s education. As for now, it’s finally time I retire myself, reflect and enjoy the future.

So before I go forward and start my encore, I am going to spend some time this summer reflecting on my last 22 years. I am going to slow down and just be.

Of course, part of that slowing down will involve shooting some film and going on quiet adventures with my cameras. One of my favorite places to walk around with my cameras is the Huntington Gardens. It is a beautiful botanical garden near our home and perfect for quiet time alone with my camera and reflecting on the years that have past.

Do you have a go-to spot that you love to go with your camera? Is there a part of town that draws you to it again and again?

  1. So, so lovely. Reminds me of the botanical gardens and the Japanese Tea Garden here in SF – we go frequently! And? Well done, mama teacher. That is an incredible achievement. x

  2. So thrilled for you on this next chapter! these are lovely. I do love to wander around Point Defiance Park here in Tacoma. I need to get out there soon.

  3. I love to go to downtown San Jose and SF but it seems hard because my kids are still young… Green with envy 🙂
