Manifesto #4:
“We believe in pulling the car over to capture the view.” .
Pack up the van, head somewhere. Anywhere. Coast, mountains, forest. We’re not picky.
This time it was the Northern California coast, a campsite a step or two away from the beach, and the sound of pounding surf to lull us to sleep. I was sick and spent a good chunk of time snoozing in the van with brief interludes for fresh air in a camp chair with a view.
By our last morning, feeling somewhat on the mend, I crept out early with my husband and the dog for an early morning walk through sun and fog and marveled yet again at how fortunate I am to have landed in this place.
We left a note for our sleeping daughter and as we headed back, she appeared through the mist to join us – the dog seeing her before we did and bounding off to greet her.
Sometimes the preparation required to skip town makes me want to say “let’s just stay home.” But even sick, there is never a single regret for hitting the road to capture the view.
cheers,
kim

The scenery is beautiful but I love the photo of the dog running to your daughter. Bounding indeed…all four feet in the air! Great shot!
That last image with your ever so fluffy dog makes my heart sing!
Love them all – yay iPhone!!!
