Christmas lights have always been one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. When I was little, my parents would always take us to a church near us that created the most amazing display of lights. My kids love Christmas lights too and we were lucky to find a place nearby that likes their lights *almost* as much as the church from my childhood.
My husband put hot chocolate in the thermos and we bundled up to walk among the display. (Yes, it was actually cold enough in Houston that night to require more than a long sleeved shirt.)
I brought my camera along for fun, hoping I could capture a little of the magic and playfulness of the evening. I’ve been doing so much client work recently that it was a nice change to wander and snap as I wanted, rather than directing or being directed by someone else.
It was just the family time we needed. (And thank goodness for self-timers!)
Until next year – Angie

Oh my goodness! How marvelously magical!
Thanks Lucy – it was a magical night.
I love lights too! Visiting some local light show or another is one of our family traditions as well. Your pictures let me experience a bit of the magic vicariously.
I’m glad you resonated with that one. Lights just make me happy!
How perfectly festive. Magic!
I adore your family image too. x
Thanks Kirstin – I’m glad I made everyone stop for that shot.
Love, love, LOVE! In fact, I shot a few yesterday inspired by you and this post!
