In my last post I wrote a bit about our family trip to Rome in June. I processed those images in black and white because it seemed to suit that particular subject the very best. But it’s more typical for me to be drawn to color when I am post-processing, so today I thought I would share a few of my favorite images from our time in Italy. These photographs are full of color, also hordes of people, because Italy and summer . . .
Color makes me happy and is instrumental in how I tell a story. I also find in my fine art printing that color is significantly more challenging to get right, although the conventional wisdom states otherwise. The blue of water, the red of a swim suit, the orange of a beach umbrella — we know what these colors should look like and it takes time and patience to print them correctly. But I love a challenge and I love printing my work, so I continue to work towards mastering color printing. I’ll also continue capturing scenes that delight me because they are bursting with color and joy.
xoxo Deb

I do so love seeing the world through your eyes. And yes, I strive to get the right colours, particularly when doing food pics so I know what you mean!
