Snow is still a novel thing to our family.
This is our first winter in a place where snow is not a monumental feat like it is in Houston.
It’s only snowed a few days here in our part of Colorado, but we’ve taken full advantage of them each time.
We catch snowflakes on our tongues, we make snow angels and we go sledding on the hill just down the street.
We take walks in our snow boots and we come home to hot chocolate by the fireplace. It’s everything we wanted about winter when we moved here.
I hope I never lose the sense of wonder that I’ve got right now when the world gets blanketed in it’s fluffy white blanket.
Winter is the king of showmen,
Turning tree stumps into snow men,
And houses into birthday cakes,
And spreading sugar over lakes.Smooth and clean and frosty white,
The world looks good enough to bite.
That’s the season to be young
Catching snowflakes on your tongue.Snow is snowy when it’s snowing
I’m sorry it’s slushy when it’s going.
