“The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
Months ago, Andy and I went for a mini adventure around Los Angeles. I took my Roleicord out with me. In fact, I think this might have been the second time I put a roll in her. Somehow, I missed scanning this roll. It just sat there in the little white box that the developers put it in for us. I don’t know if I thought it was Andy’s roll or if I had just forgotten it was there.
“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
— Aaron Siskind
This week, I discovered the roll and was excited to get it scanned and see what was on it. It had been so long that I had forgotten what I had shot.
This is one more thing I love about film photography. Sometimes, especially when life gets too busy to scan your film, you get to go back in time and remember simple days that may have been forgotten. Film cameras can be a bit of a time-machine that reminds you of the little memories of life as well as the big ones.

I love your vision. That shot of the drink is magical!
Beautiful
Yes!
I love this. I keep walking by a roll of film on my desk, waiting to be developed/scanned, and I wonder what I will find. Love this about film. <3
