For many of us, these days are long, hard, and sometimes painful. I have been trying to find the good in the simple things.
I have been finding the quiet and stillness in the morning before the house wakes up, and chores need to get done.
During our morning walks, I give thanks for my body and the freshness of the morning air.
Because we are all working from home, we have time to enjoy slow breakfasts together.
My days move at a slower pace, and I stop more often to rest, pick up a good book, and even nap.
We have been trying new recipes for dinner lately. Last week we made pupusas. They were delicious and fun to make.
We have been learning so much during this time at home. We have taken workshops on justice, participated in online book clubs, and taken online clay classes.
The ice cream maker has been used more than usual this summer. It is a sweet treat for the end of the day.
I wonder what these days will teach me. So far, I have learned to search for the simple and the good and have found hope and peace. Amid everything that is happening in the world, how are you searching for goodness and hope?

It is uplifting to see the gifts you are finding in these days. xo
Thank you for the reminder to be thankful for my body. It’s so easy for me to take it for granted. I’ve felt especially grateful for my friends lately. Seeing their (6-feet-away) faces a bit more lately has been very good.

Your kitchen is so clean! Jokes aside, love how much calmness these images transmit.
