It feels like we’re having an extended summer here with warm, sunny afternoons. Butterflies and bees still flying about in the garden. I’m grateful.
The elusive praying mantis finally made an appearance among the marigolds.
We planted a variety of seeds back in May with the hope that we’d have endless summer blooms and color. An early cold snap had me worried that our flower season was over, but along came a few late bloomers. The morning glories hang along the fence like beautiful green hearts all in a row. Heavenly blue petals turn to face the sunshine.
The asters and sedum that my mother gave me years ago have blossomed with lovely magenta petals.
We’ve been very lucky that the cosmos and zinnias continue to bloom wildly this late into the season!
Late bloomers providing hope and happiness each day. Simple pleasures.
