I’ve been playing with my camera lately, going back to basics in terms of the elements of design. Back to the simplicity of finding bright colours outside even though winter has left us with a world in browns and greys still.

Taking nature’s colours inside – and finding it with my lens. Experimenting with depth of field, and blurry shapes.

Savouring shapes, and how the light brings them out, such as the rim of my favourite tea mug on the farm.

Looking at textures in the sun, and the patterns they make, and marvelling about how patterns often don’t even need colour.

And last but not least, simply playing, full stop.
