How it’s going so far

Deirdre recently wrote here about her Daily PhotoProject, a very inspiring project where photography meets journaling and photos actually get printed.

I have written here before about my many aborted 365 photo projects. I also completed a couple, but that was years ago now. This year, I felt like I needed a photography project to keep me from doom scrolling my days away.

I have started a new 365⁄a photo a day project. It’s not a big challenge, nor is it a very original one, but it is one I feel I can meet.

A friend of mine came to visit, from France, at the end of December and taking a photo a day through the first half of January, while she was here, was easy as we went out every day. The second half of January, with many grey days and with multiple sclerosis making getting through some days a challenge already, has been more difficult. Yet, I am still going… 33 photos taken, 332 more to go.

  1. I love it Valerie.

January has been rough and a good chunk of my photos are of icicles on my house because that’s as far as I went out that day, and while I was taking them I kept thinking “how boring, yet another icicle,” but looking back through all my January photos, I now have a record of an icicle filled month, which is exactly what it was. So I am grateful I’ve kept it up, even on the boring days. I feel like my project is working for me and glad yours is working for you!
