Spring is springing as we speak, and I’ve been playing around with double exposures on my phone. It’s not as fun as with film – it’s too easy, and I am too much in control – but interesting even so.

I got this song lyric running through my head, something about walking blind with double vision that turned out to be by Heather Nova. I haven’t listened to that song for probably ten or fifteen years.

It occurs to me that now more than ever we need a bit of double vision. We need understanding. We need to explore outside of our comfort zone.

Can you train that vision?

Probably.

Several of these images are formatted very differently from my usual style. They feel a bit strange and foreign, like I didn’t create them, but also kind of exciting.

I don’t entirely know what I’m getting at here, other than perhaps to encourage you to keep experimenting.
