UAE on Film

Visiting the UAE for the first time was something I’d been excited about for a while, especially since I was finally getting to see my brother and his family, who have been living there for two years now. To make the trip feel even more special, I brought along my Contax T2 camera and some Fujifilm I had bought from someone who had brought it from Japan. Although I sometimes regret not bringing my DSLR with me, there’s something about shooting on film that makes you slow down and really take everything in and when I see the scans I always know it was the best decision! From laughing with my brothers to almost getting lost in the desert one evening (so scary!), capturing those moments and the small part I saw of this beautiful country on 35mm made everything feel a little more meaningful.

Here is a compilation of my favorite images, I hope you can see and feel how much I enjoyed this trip!

  1. What an amazing experience! I am impressed that you left your digital camera at home. That takes guts, but clearly it worked out!
