I was looking for a photo the other day–one that I had taken a couple of years ago. And my archive is a mess. I don’t have a very good system for organizing my photos, but that’s for another time. As I was searching for this one photo, however, I got lost for a bit just scrolling through the memories. Family, friends, vacations and moments of everyday beauty were were whizzing up and down my computer screen. It got me thinking of all the hundreds, if not thousands, of photos we all have stored away. Many of which sit lonely and unedited on our phones, computers, and various drives, never given the glory of being shared on Instagram, Facebook, our blogs, etc.
But I enjoyed my trip down memory lane as I got to revisit a lazy sunset over the Hudson River that I captured while at a friend’s wedding…
A superhero shadow..
My many morning coffee runs with faithful Willow waiting outside for me…
Hot summer days walking across the George Washington Bridge…
A very pregnant selfie…
And lovely walks around my neighborhood…
I do think we’ve lost something by not printing all our images like in the “good old days”. Digital will do that to you. I have been a little better about printing photos and making photo books in the past year, but there’s still a lot of work to be done!
Have you taken a dive through your archive lately? Taken a peek at some of those lonely old photos that no one has ever seen but you? When you have a few minutes, give it a try!
Until next time, happy snapping,
~Christy {Urban Muser}

Just started using Lightroom recently and I’ve been archive diving too! It’s amazing the memories it brings up….. (I love your photos of Willow)
I have so many images that haven’t seen the light of day. It might take me years to go through them all!
Thank you for the encouragement. I went and looked through some very old prints after reading this and had such lovely time reminiscing. x
