How do you Polaroid?

It is Spring Polaroid Week and everything is coming up instant film.  How are you playing along this week?  I’ll be posting to my Tumblr and tagging my images PolaroidWeek.  I will be using a variety of cameras and films.

I have a Land Camera 420 that I loaded with Fujifilm FP-3000B.  It is a great peel apart film that develops in about 20 seconds.  I love how this camera fills the frame of the film and you get larger images.

I also slapped my husband’s polaroid back onto my Hasselblad and loaded it with Fujifilm FP100C. With this option, I can meter and focus before capturing the image. The photo does not cover the whole film and you get these tiny, quaint squares.

Sadly, these two films are no longer being made.  I grabbed some earlier this year. You can still find a few packs if you look hard enough.  What then?  We call on our friends at the IMPOSSIBLE Project.

I loaded up my SX-70 with Impossible’s color film for 600.  What I love about this combo is that while you cannot get an exact meter, you can focus with this camera. When all the stars aline, you can still get a dreamy bokeh with this film.

How would you like a roll of instant film? The IMPOSSIBLE Project has kindly given us five packs of their new black and white film to you, our ViewFinders readers. Please comment on this post for a chance to win a pack.

  1. Lovely images and nice range of choices to shoot with! I believe Fuji is still producing the color film (yay) though not the black & white.

  2. Oh I still pine for Fuji’s 3000B! So my favorite film ever. And while I still have a stash, I most often shoot with my SX-70 these days. Love your shots with the 600 film. I have yet to try that!

  3. I’m still so sad about the black and white pack film being discontinued – I’ve only used it a couple of times but I got some lovely photos with it! I definitely want to upgrade to a SX-70 one day though, hurray for film!

  4. I love these! All of the cameras give such different feels to your already dreamy images. Love!

  5. I got a peel apart camera just as they stopped making the film. Wahhh! Loving all these images Staci! I’m headed out today with my sx70 to see what I can capture.

  6. These have such a timeless feel. So cool to see the different results from each camera.

  7. Great shots! I would love to own cameras like these. I adore my polaroid!

  8. Really really love the colors and tones in that last shot. The swirly bokeh almost looks like a tilt shift!

  9. I love 3000B at night and have a stash I keep replenishing to keep my 250 happy!

  10. Love all these images! Great post!
So exciting that The IMPOSSIBLE Project is giving away some black and white film. Yay, super yay to that! I have an sx-70 and my husband has a Land Camera. We are beyond thrilled to be playing around with these cameras and experimenting!

  11. The sx70 is the most magical of all the cameras. I adore it and take mine everywhere. I hope this lovely post inspires more people to be involved with instant film. Lovely pictures, especially the basket one! Beautiful pastel tones.
