“Find ecstasy within yourself. It is not out there. It is in your innermost flowering. The one you are looking for is you.” — Osho
So last week I turned 36. As old as a nice roll of film.
On my birthday, I shot a roll of film in my own honor.
I took 36 images that I wanted to take. 36 images that followed where my feet, my heart, and my tastebuds led me. It felt exactly right.
I loaded Kodak Ektar 100 in my Canon Av-1 and played.
I composed with my heart. I let my soul guide me .
Days like this always make me wonder why I don’t do this more often. Why don’t I load my camera and leave it all behind for a while?
The universe, my heart, heck, my husband even, have given me this glorious green light to create.
The person that always holds me back is me.
I know that little voice well, the one that tells me that I have work, life, and better things to do.
I CANNOT ALWAYS LISTEN. LOVING MYSELF IS AN ACT OF COURAGE.
Sometimes I have to load the the camera, and hit the door running.I do it to find the one I’m looking for.
She’s there.
36 layers deep.
Happy Birthday.
