By the time you read this my family and I will in the deep end of anotherseason of memory making.By the time you read this a massive “sneak” attack water fight will have gone down. and everyone will be happily soaked in the driveway.
By the time you read this we will be measuring the cousins back to back to see who is taller and if anyone has outgrown the other.
By the time you read this I have probably removed at least one sliver from a foot, applied five bandages, hung up two soggy swim suits, and cuddled at least one of the kids in the hammock.By the time you read this, we will be slathering on another layer of sun screen and wiping the juice of the watermelon contest away from our chins.
By the time you read this the kids will be cracking jokes, the laughter from the punch line is echoing off the pine trees and traveling down the dusty hill to the old mill pond.
By the time you read this I will be sharing a hike and a new recipe with my sisters in law as we catch up on fresh mountain air and each other.
By the time you read this, I will be getting an ice cold beer for my father in law and helping my mother in law in the kitchen while we make her most delish summer side dish that i have dubbed, Greagle Mac Salad to be piled next to tonight’s BBQed ribs and corn on the cob.
By the time you read this we will have walked the back way or piled the kids in the pickup bed to the Foster’s Freeze for ice cream cones that will melt faster than you can say, “brain freeze”.By the time you read this I will have another memory card full of moments like these. I will line them up next to the previous years and wonder how kids can grow so quickly, when I don’t feel older at all.By the time you read this, life will have kept moving by so quickly that we don’t notice until we notice.
Keep chasing that light, Vanessa
