With the end of the year, I’m coming up on the tail end of my current 365 project. Rather, I’m catching up in a flurry of three or so months of backlogged personal work. It’s been such a tumultuous year on the world stage. Our politics have shown, or perhaps even created, an incredible divide that often feels like it could quite actually rip us apart in body and in spirit. I know what this year has meant, in so many ways, to so many people. I certainly know what it has meant to me.
I sit here looking at very nearly a year’s worth of my photography and my family’s history. I can’t necessarily see the turmoil and the fissures. I don’t see the anger, the hurt, and the heartbreak. What I do see are these little snippets of my life. I see joy and laughter, strength and curiosity, I see adventure, I see hope and I see the future. Despite all that’s going on around us, I really do think we’re going to be okay. Here’s to all that’s to come in 2018!
All the best,
Alison

Oh, Alison. These are a balm to the soul. To yours, especially, I imagine. But to me too. The pureness and innocence. The love you’ve captured. Thank you for sharing these tender peeks.
I believe we’re all going to be okay too…
