In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d share some of my favorite thoughts on love, paired with some of my favorite still life images of flowers.
I have a love/hate relationship with Valentine’s Day. It seems so commercial these days. But one thing is for certain – I will always and forever celebrate, and fight, for love.
“I am grateful to have been loved and to be loved now and to be able to love, because that liberates. Love liberates. It doesn’t just hold – that’s ego. Love liberates. It doesn’t bind.” ~Maya Angelou
“Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war, love is a growing up.” ~James Baldwin
“Love is like the sea. It’s a moving thing, but still and all, it takes its shape from the shore it meets, and it’s different with every shore.” ~ Zora Neale Hurston
“Some say we are responsible for those we love. Others know we are responsible for those who love us.” ~Nikki Giovanni
Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, may you spend some time today with those that you love.

Azzari, your photographs are gorgeous! Much needed pops of color on a dreary day, and the quotes are lovely.
Many thanks, Grace!
Sigh. So very pretty!
Thank you, Chinwe!
This is everything! x
