I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn’t it?
from Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montogmery
And this October it’s the little things that count. I can’t travel long distances, so I travel short distances, and enjoy the small details of my neighbourhood.
Being home is brightened by candles and tea and books and knitting, and often by the fact that it has been raining a lot outside.
So this is me, right now.
How are you doing? If you’re anything like me, you need some reassurance, right now. I hope you can find it close to you.

Jenny, You had me at the lovely quote from Anne of Green Gables. It’s rainy here this morning, and I do find that I long for reassurance. I have no choice but to look for it close to home – and your photos have inspired me to not just see the beauty but to search for it.
Thanks, Jenny. Yes – looking for beauty wherever I can find it these days. I might go for a long drive to peek at some fall leaves this weekend.
This is all the kinds of small lovelies. Thank you. x
