A few weekends ago we drove to Lake Tahoe, in Northern California, for the weekend. It’s only a four hour drive from our home in San Jose and, although we usually go in the winter to enjoy the snow or in the summer to swim in the lake, we thought it would be a nice break from the stress of the end of the school year, which is rapidly creeping up on us.
I took my digital camera with me but I also packed two of my analog cameras. I ended up using my analog cameras the most, but I have procrastinated about sending the rolls to develop so I don’t have any photos to prove we were there. Well, I do have my phone pics. Would you like to see them?
Sometimes I don’t know why I even bother taking my digital camera on trips any more… I suppose I still do because I am always looking for opportunities to get a shoot for my side stock business, or simply because I’m used to carrying it with me all the time. But with phones photos like these and with the ones I’ll get with my scans soon, why bother? Does anyone out there feel the same way? Share with me in the comments, I’d love to know. And as soon as I get my film scans back I promise to share and we can continue the discussion!

Beautiful pictures, it all looks very serene and a perfect place to chill.
I very often can’t be bothered to lug my DSLR around, and my phone takes awful pictures. This has come back to haunt me often, and now when I don’t take the DSLR I just hope I don’t see anything worth photographing or else I’ll regret it ?.
I think I take more digital pictures now than I ever did before. But my camera isn’t a huge DSLR these days.
These are beautiful! Lake Tahoe is on my list of places to visit. I feel the same way! I love my giant DSLR for nigh time photography, but even then my iphone is pretty solid these days. I’m glad you had the opportunity to get away for the weekend!
