Hello, November

It’s that time of the year again, when the light is mostly artificial except for the occasional glorious red sky and long lines of sunlight creeping across the floor, and the world lends itself to minimalist compositions and distant headlights bokeh.

I’m strangely content this year even though it’s so dark, perhaps because I frequently start my work day with digital meetings from home, so I don’t leave for work until there is actual daylight. That whole thing with leaving home before sunrise and coming home after sunset is exhausting.

Still, I feel tired, but I’m chewing my vitamins D and keeping up with everyday life (if only barely, or so it feels like sometimes), and I accept that even though I itch to learn, to read and to experiment with my cameras, I am happy to be shooting at all, even if only with my phone and only of my everyday life.

Below, some of my November life and light. How are you coping with November?

~ Warmly, Jenny G.

  1. Your November looks so cosy. I’m trying leaning into the colder months this time around….
