It’s that time of year again. The time when I start seriously considering just what kind of endeavors I’d like to take on in the coming year. And I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a hankering for a project. The 365 is calling my name again. I’ve got more than a few completed years under my belt. It had become so much of a habit, that daily shooting, editing, posting, flickr-community-ing.
And then the pandemic hit. Along with that came a major shift in “who am I?” and a re-examining of where I fit into this big old world. I managed to finish out 2020 the whole way through, but in 2021, I was really knocked off of my flow – for completely legitimate reasons all around, but shifted off nonetheless.
The last two years I’ve set in with the mindset that daily shooting will somehow just come back. That if it happens back into existence, then great. To no one’s surprise, it hasn’t.
I’m feeling it differently now, though. Maybe it’s something in the air, in the shifting of schedules and feeling the need to mark the time. In some ways, I am starting to see my skills slipping a bit as well – really a falling out of practice and a need to start noticing again.
I think it’s time. So, here’s to a fresh start. Here’s to seeing and re-seeing. Here’s to keeping hold of the camera. Here’s to resurrecting ways to tell my story.
All the best,
I’m so looking forward to seeing your next project. xox
