leaning into peace

In January, I chose my word for 2026: peace. And it’s a word I’ve been intentionally leaning into this year.

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I took a short trip out of the city to a little country town a couple of hours away. We booked a beautiful, dog-friendly Airbnb that was tucked away in a gorgeous bush setting.

We spent our time enjoying the home away from home, wandering along the main street of town, visiting wineries and a local brewery, and simply slowing down.

There was no rush, no pressure to do anything, there was just good conversations and quiet moments: the kind of moments that make everything feel lighter.

One thing I’ve learned so far this year is that peace isn’t always found in big life changes. Sometimes, peace is found in the simple choices we make each day.

Like, stepping away for a weekend,

and waking up slowly instead of rushing into the day.

Like, making time to explore and have fun,

and finding space to breathe and reset.

Like, sharing a glass of wine with someone you love,

or enjoying cheese, crackers and orange juice together instead.

Like, preparing a bath at the end of the day,

and allowing yourself to just be.

I hope you’re finding peace too, in all the precious moments of your days.

Until next time, Jacqui x
