We believe that photography is a solo pursuit
made much more enjoyable
when practiced with the support of a community.
. . . . . . . .
When I started blogging in 2008, I started reaching out beyond my own camera and laptop to expand my photography skills. Many of us may have shared a similar path in finding our photographic eye – taking online classes and sharing our talents with each other on Flickr, creating and taking part in collaborative ventures too many to name in which we built our sense of fellowship – encouraging and cheering one another on as we tried new ways of telling visual stories, and sharing the fun of shooting daily or weekly prompts. We can’t do it alone.
The incomparable Brené Brown commented in an interview on community: “I think connection is why we’re here, it’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives, and belonging is in our DNA. And so “tribe” and “belonging” are irreducible needs, like love.”
And it is why we are here now. Although the busyness of our daily lives sometimes precludes all else, still we all reach out to one another to share in our mutual love of storytelling with our cameras.
Please join us?
cheers,
