Emotion is messy, contradictory… and true.

The most recent ViewFinders theme was EMOTION, and our community shared some beautiful and compelling images to define the theme. We challenged you to express emotion in new ways, not just showing emotion through facial expressions or body language, but sharing images that elicit emotion, that clearly convey a feeling — love, pride, joy, sadness, frustration, peacefulness, nostalgia, and more. What emotions do you think this month’s images express?
Our next theme will be SKY. Here on the east coast of the United States the skies have cleared after a long rainy spell, and the sun is shining joyfully. But the sky isn’t just a happy blue — it has many moods. How will you capture the sky in your photographs? Will it take the leading role, or be a supporting actor?
Post your SKY images by July 4th for an opportunity to be featured in our July 7th community theme post. And don’t forget to tag your images #viewfindersio and #sky.
See you soon.

The variety and complexity of emotion conveyed by these photographs gives me a deep appreciation of humanity. It’s so easy to get swept away in the necessities and every day routines. Sometimes I forget how important emotion is – not just for joy but also for compassion and understanding. These photographs are healing for my soul. Many thanks for the honor of being included.
What a marvelous collection, covering such a wide range of emotions. Thanks so much to everyone who submitted!
