Over the summer, I edited a series of digital landscape images in black and white and realised it had been a long time since I’d shot any black and white film. I pulled out my Canon A-1, loaded a roll, and took it on a walk to my local beach. It’s a place I photograph often, but this time I enjoyed the challenge of capturing it in a different way.
Coincidentally, the day my scans came back from the lab, Staci published her own black and white beach images from a recent trip. So, from the palms of Manhattan Beach, let me take you to the Pembrokeshire coast on a grey autumn day.

As I write this, I am mentally packing for an upcoming trip to a very different and wildly dramatic landscape. Maybe I’ll take a roll of black and white film there too……..Watch this space!
