I’ve been posting some photos on Facebook recently of my workspace at home. While I miss working from the office, I am quite pleased with my little space – a huge, wooden desk (inherited) facing the window, a big green plant and my late mother’s picture of the Mountains of Mourne on the windowsill, my map of the world mat underneath the keyboard and rollermouse.
A friend commented that it looked quite stylish. I told her that I have deliberately not taken photos of the everyday mess in the rest of the room. I suppose it’s a sort of coping strategy – while the world feels out of control, I carve out a tiny corner of the world that I can control and make beautiful. It’s the small things that count, isn’t it.
Until next time, Jenny Graver.
