Over the weekend on New Year’s Eve, my neighborhood experienced a fog so dense, I couldn’t see more than one city block through the mist in any direction. We went for a walk as much to get some exercise as to experience it!
The next morning, on New Year’s Day, blue skies returned, and we could see clearly wherever we looked.
There has to be a metaphor in there somewhere, right? Maybe the future will be as bright as we hope, with opportunities around every corner!
Or maybe not.
Regardless, I think I’ll allow it to unfold as it will without too many expectations. No choosing a word. No lengthy list of resolutions. No reassessments filling out endless worksheets on where I’ve been and where I want to go. Been there, done that; this year I’m taking a break.
And that’s okay.
Last year, I never did buy that simpler camera, but I did get a new washing machine!. I didn’t catch up posting my daily photo project, but I still captured my cup of coffee almost every day. I never did clear out my piles of excess photo gear or get those rolls of film developed–intentions I do hope to address, but I did get a new computer setup, which substantially made my work life easier and helped me to grow my business.
Don’t get me wrong. I have big plans, exciting ideas, and giant intentions…I always do! But for right now, my goal is to keep moving forward, to keep expanding and to keep capturing my life one step…
and one photo…
at a time.
How about you? What’s your plan for 2023.
Until next time,
