This summer when I went on holiday, I set myself a challenge – to keep an Instagram story going with black and white photos of what I was doing during the holiday, shot and edited on mobile.

It was a fun challenge.

Summer is so full of colour that it felt wrong sometimes – and sometimes I just had to post colour images in my Instagram stream as well – but it was surprising how the deep greens and vividly coloured flowers of the rural landscape translated quite well to black and white.

Photos shot inside gained a wonderful nostalgic feeling in the way that black and white does …

… and so did the photos shot on our outings really.

Though I guess my feelings of nostalgia also stem from the fact that I’m back at work and the holidays seem long ago already. And so it goes.
