I’ve had a whole lot of living over the past two weeks of work and vacation on the edge of Lake George up in the Adirondacks. The sun sparkled on the water in a shimmer of light, bright white during the daytime, golden hues behind the mountains at night. I shopped for flowers and attended a concert–my first in years! I went to the rodeo, swam in the lake, enjoyed boat rides and flopped down in exhaustion after doing PT. And I worked. With a view of the bay, I had no complaints. There was ice cream and coffee, big puffy clouds and waves.
When I looked over my pictures–all snapshots from my iphone like always– I was struck by the blue that surrounded me: water, skies, concert lights and even my Dad’s shirt on a visit to the rehab hospital. It would appear I was living blue all week.
To edit my photos, I fell back on an old standard: VSCO’s Kodak Gold 100. I chose it because it reminds me of the film I bought on a regular basis before digital took the world by storm, its nostalgia perfect for me.

My life is usually quiet, so all this activity was certainly a change. Like I said, it was a whole lot of living full of work, play, family, responsibility and pretty much every emotion under the sun. But what sticks in my mind are the blues: sky blue, water blue, clothing blue, concert blue and yes, moody blue too.
I hope your snapshots catch all your living–active or calm, blue, green or yellow–to remember for years to come too!
Until next time,
Holly

I especially like the ones where the evening light hits your blue summer days like a warning that fall is on its way.
All the glorious blue and light and, yes, vsco (film) nostalgia. Love this so much.
Loving all the light in these!
ALL THE BLUE! And so glad to hear you’ve been able to spend some time away from work.
I love all the blue but also how it is set off by pops of green and gold.
