Lake Life

New York state has 4002 lakes, and the cleanest lake within its state lines is Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains. How do I know this? I photographed the annual meeting for the Lake George Association last Saturday and learned a lot about freshwater conservation and their amazing efforts to protect the lake and keep it clean.

I couldn’t be more appreciative whenever I pour a glass of filtered water from the lake, glide across her soft clean surface while on a swim or just enjoying the fact that when the water is calm, we can look straight to the bottom off the end of our dock.

Since I arrived, my days have been full of helping with work (cleaning the house and working in the yard kind) and work (photographing and editing my photos kind) and a lot of dog walks, dock time, deck time with a little bluegrass time (that’s my uncle singing) in between. I could get used to this! I’ve been photographing the little details along the way just like I do wheverever I’m up here!

We’re slowly getting our dog Gibson used to the water again. His new lifejacket has been a big hit–and a big help to keep him afloat while he gets his lake legs again.

And of course, we’ve been enjoying the glorious sunsets every evening.

If you know anyone in the Lake George region who needs a photogapher, send them my way!

Until next time,
Holly
